APLセミナー(アジ研パワーランチセミナー)

APLセミナー(アジ研パワーランチセミナー)は、アジア経済研究所の研究者のみならず、外部の研究者、学生の方にも参加いただけるリサーチワークショップで、お昼の時間にアジア経済研究所（海浜幕張）の会議室で開催しております。

研究所内外における研究者の方の研究成果、研究活動の中間発表を行っていただくほか、発表者と参加者、あるいは参加者相互のディスカッションを行います。テーマ、講師に応じて日本語あるいは英語での発表、議事進行となります。
——参加ご希望の方は、研究所受付にて「APLセミナーに参加」とお伝え頂き、開催場所まで直接お越し下さい。——
セミナー終了後、受付で渡される「面会確認票」にセミナーの司会者から署名を得て頂きますよう、お願い申し上げます。
なお、ランチとありますが昼食は出ません。

The Caribbean is home to many Small Island Developing States (SIDS). These territories share common development challenges, including geographic and economic isolation, limited resources, high costs of transportation, environmental fragility and vulnerability to climate change and natural disaster. The negative impacts of the economic crisis initiated in 2008 have endured the current context for the Caribbean region to advance in its development agenda.

The presentation explores key development challenges in Caribbean SIDS, with emphasis on the environmental dimension that is critical to these territories. By considering the central objectives of the recently approved 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, the presentation evaluates the possibilities Caribbean SIDS possess to achieve these global commitments in their specific regional context and what are the main obstacles these countries face in their path towards sustainable development. The negatives effects of climate change in the region will also be examined, as well as the key actions implemented in the region towards the mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
