Challenges for the Area Studies in Responding to the Triple Planetary Crisis
Outline
How can Area Studies contribute to addressing the triple planetary crisis of climate change, environmental pollution, and biodiversity loss? Using the nexus assessment of biodiversity, water, food, health, and climate change, along with the Nature Positive goal set by the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework to 'halt and reverse nature loss' by 2030, this study explores the challenges for Area Studies that consider the contexts of individual countries and regions in developing and emerging nations, as well as international relations.
