Development of a Geographical Simulation Model (IDE-GSM) and geo-economic dataset(2017_1_30_006)

Outline

Continued from FY2016, we will attempt to make the parameters in the Geographical Simulation Model (IDE-GSM) more realistic by utilising the economic data by region in the years 2005 and 2010. We will try to estimate the speed of inter-regional migration by observing the differences in per capita income at the sub-national level and subsequent changes in the regional population based on the data for 2005 and 2010 in East Asia, as well as older data for Japan. We will improve the dataset for Central Asia, and in particular, we will estimate the regional GDP and surface route data using nighttime satellite images.

Period

April 2017 - March 2018
