GLOBAL VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT REPORT 2025: REWIRING GVCs IN A CHANGING GLOBAL ECONOMY
Robert Koopman and others eds.
“Global Value Chain Development Report” is a collaborative research outcome produced by five organizations (the Asian Development Bank, the Research Institute for Global Value Chains at the University of International Business and Economics, the Institute of Developing Economies-Japan External Trade Organization, the World Trade Organization, and the World Economic Forum) that lead research on Global Value Chains (GVCs).
The fifth edition of this report focuses on “re‑globalization” as a process of restructuring to address emerging economic, political, and social priorities. It examines opportunities to rethink GVCs in ways that enhance inclusiveness, resilience, and sustainability.
This publication is the outcome of extensive research based on numerous background papers prepared by 60 researchers affiliated with leading research institutions worldwide, with the five organizations mentioned above serving as the core contributors. Among them, IDE-JETRO led the development of Chapters 3 and 4. At IDE-JETRO, the edition was developed as part of the deliverables of the research project “Global Value Chain in Transition V”, led by Dr. Bo Meng.
