The purpose of this project is to publish a bi-annual web journal in Japanese, “Latin America Report.” In this journal, we publish articles that analyse contemporary political, economic and social issues in the Latin American region, written by the specialists on Latin America in the IDE as well as other institutions. We also publish short reports and brief book reviews on Latin American region. The target readers for this journal are students and business persons, government officials and journalists as well as the academic community on Latin American studies. In the fiscal year 2020, we will publish No. 1, Vol. 37, in July 2020 and No. 2 in January 2021. We are planning to carry articles on the issues in Latin America, such as the presidential election and the new government in Argentina, the presidential election and its subsequent political confusion in Bolivia, and the changing policies on environment and social area by the new government in Brazil.
