Workers and Firms in Africa
Outline
The research project will create a book in Japanese about the economies of sub-Saharan Africa targeting general readers. While the recent books on the African economies published in Japan commonly focus on foreign direct investment and aids, we provide a broader scope by describing local producers and workers including informal sectors, which are main players in the economies. The book is mainly based on recent empirical studies by data analysis given its rapid growth in the studies of African economies. These features will make the book novel in providing balanced and academic understanding in mechnisms of poverty in the African economies to the general readers interested in development.
