Scientometric approach to Japanese studies on developing countries(2020_3_40_001)
Outline
This project aims to perform a scientometric analysis of citations in Japanese studies on developing countries in order to illustrate the structure of knowledge production as well as the change in that structure. There have been few quantitative studies on Japanese humanities and social sciences, including studies on developing countries. The reason is the lack of a database of citations in humanities and social sciences in Japanese. Therefore, this project will begin by constructing a database of citations in Japanese studies on developing countries. The database will comprise data on cited articles, including type, date, and language of publication. Then, we will use the constructed database to perform a citation analysis. The first step is to show the fundamental structure of the citation totaling data. The second step is to create an image of the network formed by citations in Japanese studies on developing countries and related areas, using a scientometric approach.
