Economic Impacts of Tariff Change in Asia(2020_2_40_012)
Outline
Since 2000, trade has been rapidly liberalized in the Asia-Pacific region as the result of regional trade agreements. In this research project, we will empirically investigate how such trade liberalization, especially tariff reductions, has affected the economies of nine countries/regions in East Asia and Southeast Asia, from various perspectives. Although we focus on the impacts of tariff reductions in all countries, we focus on which impacts differ according to country/region. Through these analyses, we intend elucidate the economic impacts of tariff reductions in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
