Digitalization and the Developing World: Things that Change and Not Change(2021_2_40_011)

Outline

Digital technologies provide a new approach to the challenges of developing countries. In the age of digitalization, the benefits of latecomers are greater than ever before, and the word of leapfrogging represents economic development in the digital age. It is clear that digital technologies can bring great benefits to developing countries with inadequate social institutions and infrastructure. However, when a country's inherent society and institutions fit well into digital technology, it can bring about significant change; otherwise, change is unlikely to occur. This research project focuses on the differences between countries and regions, examining the relationship between digitalization and development in developing countries from a regional context and comparing them.
