Constitution and politics in Sub-saharan Africa (2020_1_40_003)
Outline
In Sub-Saharan Africa, constitutions have been a focus of struggle between two parties: those of autocratic leaders that hope for their rule to continue as long as possible, and those of pro-democracy camps that hope to consolidate democracy and rule of law in their countries. Focusing on such types of political events in recent years, this research project conducts a case study of several African countries. Tackling this relatively uninvestigated subject, this project expects to contribute to a deeper understanding of Africa in terms of its countries and politics.
