Estimation of Updating the Asian International Input-output Table and its Application to Analyses of Global Supply Chains (2019_2_40_011)
Outline
The international input-output table (IIOT) plays an important role in the analysis of the internationalization of production networks (global supply chains), as mainly observed between China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting increasing attention among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. However, the construction of the IIOT requires substantial time, and it has been difficult to capture changes in supply chains/production structures in recent years. To overcome this problem, this study aims to compile the updated IIOT for the Asia-Pacific region that reflects recent changes in supply chains/production structures and to conduct analyses on global supply chains in the Asia-Pacific region (e.g., by identifying the structures of industrial linkage and measuring the impacts of various policies on international production networks). The study also intends to develop a refined methodology for updating IIOTs.
