Issues Regarding Droughts, Environmental Problems, and Urbanization in the Middle East (2019_1_40_010)

Outline

In this study group, we treat the ever-growing issues derived from global warming, namely water shortages, environmental problems, and issues of urbanization as a mutually related tower of issues facing the contemporary MENA region. Focusing mainly on Iran, Egypt, Afghanistan, and Turkey, our common purpose is to clarify the basic conditions for solutions to these most-serious issues, specifically the issues of the water management of rivers and underground water, proper water delivery for agriculture, and disputes regarding water-sharing in international rivers.
