The Challenge of Strengthening the Health Care System in Vietnam: Being in Weak Health in Ho Chi Minh City (2018_2_40_006)

Outline

Recently, Vietnam has been engaging in efforts to bolster its health care system nationally. The situation has been getting better. However, there are several problems, such as (1) about 20% of the country has not yet joined in; and (2) those of weak health in society, such as the poor, the elderly, and people with disabilities, all for whom the Vietnamese government provides health insurance, have not fully utilized their rights. Based on a qualitative approach that focuses on the further expansion of Vietnam’s health care system, our research attempts to elucidate the realities surrounding the Vietnamese health care system and the social situation thereto related, along with the structure behind it.
