Economic Analysis of Political Shocks

Outline

This project examines the economic influence of political shocks. Based on micro-level data, the following two questions will be addressed empirically.
(A) Malaria Infection and Fetal Growth during the War: Implications from Liberia
This research explores whether the malaria infection risk in wartime pregnancies resulted in increased infant mortality in Liberia.
(B) Economic Leverage: Effects of Russian Natural Gas Cuts on Political Sentiment in the Ukraine
This study aims to estimate the impacts of economic sanctions on household budgets and individual political views in Ukraine.
