Political Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Asia（2020_2_40_027）
This study will aim to clarify the status of the realization of the political rights of persons with disabilities in Asia and to find hindering issues by using the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as criteria. Do persons with disabilities enjoy the suffrage that is considered a basic human right in modern countries? Has accessibility been provided to ensure substantive equality in election systems, or, to the contrary, has a lack of accessibility posed restrictions on their political rights? This study will not only examine the status of each country but will also try to find common issues in Asia via comparative analysis.
