Labour Reforms in India (2020_2_40_010)

Outline

The present research tries to explicate the state of affairs of labour reforms in India after economic liberalization, especially focusing on that in the first two decades of this century. While the research duly looks at the amendment of labour laws and their reasoning, it pays more attention to the actions, policies, behavioral principles, movements, and relationships and their changes in and among the actors of the industrial relations systems, that is, workers/trade unions and labour organizations, employers/employers’ organizations, and the government. Situating labor reforms as an outcome of the industrial relations as a starting, analytical viewpoint, the study tries to elucidate the factors affecting India’s labour reforms.
