Outline
Recent
activities
of
several
Islamist
militant
groups
in
Sub-Saharan
Africa
pose
the
problems
of
terrorism
and
armed
conflict.
Furthermore,
they
also
require
researchers
to
fully
reinvestigate
what
role
has
Islam
been
playing
in
the
political
development
and
social
changes
in
Sub-Saharan
Africa.
This
study
tries
to
tackle
with
this
relatively
uninvestigated
subject
in
the
hope
of
identifying
major
topics
for
further
research.
