Understanding the Impact of the Employment Guarantee Programme on the Labour Market in India
Outline
The Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), enacted in 2005 (as NREGA), is the Indian central government’s priority anti-poverty scheme. This act aims to improve the livelihoods of the adult rural population by providing unskilled manual work for 100 days a year. The main purpose of this project is to comprehend the impact of MGNREGA on the rural labour market in India based on village surveys.
