Data Sources and Notes : Cambodia

Administrative Divisions

GEDA adopts 24 primary-level administrative divisions (mostly provinces) based on the Cambodia Inter-Censal Population Survey 2004. The unavailability of sectorial data by region for 2005 caused the main difficulty in the preparation of Cambodia’s data for GEDA. The closest available data were used to generate data for 2005. The detailed sources and methods used to generate these data are as follows.

GDP

Figures on sectorial labor by province were used to subdivide the sectorial value added available from the National Institute of Statistics into 25 sub-sectorial value-added. Figures on sectorial labor by province were first computed from the following sources:

(i) Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery: Population Census 2008 1 .
(ii) Number of Public Servants: Population Census 2008.
(iii) Other Industries: Economic Census 2011 2 (excluding firms established in 2006 or later).

Population

Provincial populations are based on the Cambodia Inter-Censal Population Survey 2004.

Area

Provincial areas are based on the Population Census 2008.
