The Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO) and the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research cooperation on November 22, 2023.

BRIN is a new institution established in 2021 by merging various governmental research institutes and policy research units under the ministries in Indonesia. IDE-JETRO has a long history of research collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), one of the former entities of BRIN.

Following the signing of this MOU, IDE-JETRO intends to enhance its cooperation especially with two Research Organizations under of the umbrella of BRIN, namely, the Research Organization for Social Sciences and Humanities and the Research Organization for Governance, Economy, and Community Welfare, and promote joint research and personnel exchange.
