Promoting Mutual Understanding in Today’s Asia: Dialogue on Southeast Asian Studies in Japan and Taiwan
As globalization proceeds, Asia observes development and expansion of networks in different areas; economic interactions across East and Southeast Asia have significantly grown since 1990s, and movements of people as well as goods and services in the region have also become a routine. In academic communities, studies about Asia by Asian researchers themselves have been thriving, which boosts communication and cooperation in the field of Asian studies and networking across countries.
This symposium is aimed to share insights about Southeast Asia accumulated in Japan and Taiwan and to explore research topics to be addressed jointly. We hope this opportunity will advance mutual understanding in Asia and contribute to further research networks.
