Probe Data and Connectivity Measurement

Economic integration at national level has traditionally been measured by trade flow. Application of such methodology to subnational regions is difficult because trade between cities are rarely recorded nor published. Given the current trend whereby more and more vehicles' probe data are becoming available from widespread usage of GPS-capable mobile devices, this seminar aims to explore the potential usage of probe data to measure connectivity’s within and among urban areas.
