Seminar on "Empirical Research to Examine the Effectiveness of Supporting Policies to SMEs of Handicraft Industries in Lao PDR as to Realize Some Collaborations with Traditional Craft Industries in Japan"
The seminar will be organized based on a research project namely, "Empirical Research to Examine the Effectiveness of Supporting Policies to SMEs of Handicraft Industries in Lao PDR as to Realize Some Collaborations with Traditional Craft Industries in Japan" conducted by Dr. Masami Ishida, Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO) and his team.
This research project intends to examine the effectiveness of “the gift project," conducted by JETRO until FY 2017 in order to support small & medium enterprises (SMEs) of handicraft industries in Lao PDR and also to analyze the current situations and challenges of Japanese traditional craft industries in Japan. Through these examinations, the seminar aims to present a complementary business model between traditional craft industries of Japan and handicraft industries in Lao PDR.
