In the Mekong sub-region countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam), new trends in the agricultural sector have emerged recently. Modernized commercial production methodologies, such as so-called "high-tech agriculture" has been introduced; post-harvest and distribution systems have been upgraded; and new actors such as foreign-invested enterprises have invested in agricultural sector.
