In the Mekong sub-region countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam), new trends in the agricultural sector have emerged recently. Modernized commercial production methodologies, such as so-called "high-tech agriculture" has been introduced; post-harvest and distribution systems have been upgraded; and new actors such as foreign-invested enterprises have invested in agricultural sector. The relationship with Japan has also been changed. This seminar presents the research outcome on such new trend of agriculture in the Mekong sub-region.
