Trade in Value-added Analysis: An Extension to Developing Economies (III)
Outline
IDE-JETRO has conducted joint research with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) from 2010 and published a report of the results in June 2011. When announcing the publication, both organisations jointly held an international conference at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, hosted by IDE President Prof. Takashi Shiraishi and WTO Director General H.E. Pascal Lamy. This conference was followed by the publication of the report in Japanese when an international symposium was held in Tokyo, to which WTO Deputy Director-General Mr. Alejandro Jara was invited, in order to disseminate the results of the joint research to stakeholders in government, academics and business community.
This year, the newly constructed data, “Transnational Interregional Input-Output Table for China, Japan and Korea” will be fully utilized to address the important issue of measuring international trade in the face of growing global manufacturing.
