2014 Elections in Indonesia: 10-year Yudhoyono Presidency in Retrospect, a New President in Prospect
Outline
This research project aims to analyze the contemporary political economy of Indonesia. In particular, the study focuses on two themes. First, we examine the achievements and outstanding issues under the 10-year Yudhoyono government. Second, we analyze the parliamentary and presidential elections to be held in 2014, as well as the process of forming a new government. Combining the historical, theoretical, and field studies on the Yudhoyono presidency and the two important elections, this research will provide analytical insight into the current political economy in Indonesia and the prospects for this newly democratizing country and rapidly growing economy.
