APLセミナー（アジ研パワーランチセミナー）は、アジア経済研究所の研究者のみならず、外部の研究者、学生の方にも参加いただけるリサーチワークショップで、お昼の時間にアジア経済研究所（海浜幕張）の会議室で開催しています。

研究所内外における研究者が研究成果、研究活動の中間発表を行うほか、発表者と参加者、あるいは参加者相互のディスカッションを行います。テーマ、講師に応じて日本語あるいは英語での発表、議事進行となります。

セミナー終了後、受付で渡される「面会確認票」にセミナーの司会者から署名を得てください。
なお、ランチとありますが昼食は出ません。

From literature, there are many factors that affect firm performance. Generally, firm performance is affected by interplay between internal and external factors. However in Africa, the often unstable external environment (factors) seems to have an overriding effect on firm performance, especially when the firm's internal capabilities are relatively weak. This presentation examines the findings of a study of the Food Processing Sub-Sector in Zambia from 2012 when the firms seemed to be growing, to 2016 when some firms faced challenges to the extent that a few closed down their operations. The presentation in particular brings out factors that attempt to explain the poor performance of these firms.
