APLセミナー（アジ研パワーランチセミナー）は、アジア経済研究所の研究者のみならず、外部の研究者、学生の方にも参加いただけるリサーチワークショップで、お昼の時間にアジア経済研究所（海浜幕張）の会議室で開催しています。

研究所内外における研究者が研究成果、研究活動の中間発表を行うほか、発表者と参加者、あるいは参加者相互のディスカッションを行います。テーマ、講師に応じて日本語あるいは英語での発表、議事進行となります。

In recent years, we have seen countries like Japan, Korea, China, the US and the EU all rushing into the ASEAN market. As Taiwan faces shifting geopolitical, economic and trade relations from China since the new government has arisen last year, the "New Southbound policy" aims to pursue bilateral partnerships with ASEAN countries. Taiwan highly depends on international trade and has participated extensively in the global value chain of popular technology products (e.g. semiconductors). The global industry linkage table (or world input-output table) which describes the interdependent relationship across different countries and sectors gives an analytical framework to figure out Taiwan’s current status and opportunity.

In this study, we utilize global industry linkage table to build up an evaluating system of different indicators via the potential demand of target market and substantial supply of Taiwan’s industries. Taking Indonesia as an example, the electrical component and communication equipment sector which has been chosen as the target industry shows strong backward linkage to foreign countries which in turn corresponds to strong forward linkage of Taiwan. Furthermore, we set several scenarios to evaluate the policy effects and shed some lights on the next appropriatetarget industries and countries in ASEAN.
