Publication of the Latin America Report (2019_1_30_003)

Outline

The purpose of this project is to publish a biannual web journal in Japanese, the Latin America Report. In this journal, we publish articles that analyze contemporary political, economic, and social issues in the Latin American region, written by specialists on Latin America at the IDE as well as at other institutions. We also publish short reports and brief book reviews that focus on the Latin America region. The target readers for this journal are students and business persons, government officials, and journalists, as well as the academic community engaged in Latin American studies.

In FY2019, we will publish No. 1, Vol. 36, in July 2019 and No. 2 in January 2020. We are planning to carry articles that focus on economic policies by the new Mexican government, on the Brazilian general election at the end of 2018, and on the political and economic crisis in Venezuela.

Period
