Islam and socio-political change in Africa (2017_1_40_010)
Outline
In recent years, the activities of Islamist insurgents have increased in sub-Saharan Africa. This phenomenon has not only drawn the attention of those interested in “terrorism” and conflict, but it also requires researchers to reconsider historically and contemporarily what roles Islam has played in politics and societies in Africa. In this study group, we will explore the potential of this research topic.
