Databases of Articles and Evaluation Systems in the Humanities and Social Science of East Asia
Outline
In the humanities and social science of East Asian countries, several databases of articles were created and developed over the past two decades. These databases are intimately related to their research evaluation systems. As a preliminary step to a comprehensive study of the research regimes in these countries, this project will perform the following three tasks. First, we will show the characteristics of each database compared to the others. Second, we will examine the relationship between each database and the research evaluation system. Third, we will survey the existing research on the databases and evaluation systems in order to construct a framework for deeper and more rigorous analysis in the future.
