Industrialisation, Private Sector Development and Economic Transformation in Africa: Challenge and Prosperity

TICAD VI will be held for the first time in African continent, Nairobi, Kenya on 27 th and 28 th of August 2016. IDE organises a seminar titled "Industrialisation, Private Sector Development and Economic Transformation in Africa: Challenge and Prosperity" in this occasion of "TICAD VI" on 28 th of August 2016 jointly with African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and Overseas Development Institute (ODI) as following details.

In SSA countries, industrialisation is critically needed for economic transform. In this seminar the potential pathways toward the transformation will be discussed by experts from SSA, UK and Japan with a wide range of expertise from broader perspectives regarding industrialisation policy to empirical research in local contexts. The first half of the seminar will provide insightful reports by the experts and the second half will be devoted for a productive panel discussion.
