Re-examining the Taiwan Strait Crises and the U.S. -Taiwan Relations in the Cold War(2021_2_40_001)
Outline
This research focuses on Chiang Kai-shek’s policy toward the Taiwan Strait Crisis events that occurred during the Cold War period. It utilizes not only U.S. sources but also Taiwanese archival documents that have been declassified in Taiwan. Via these routes, this research re-examines the development of U.S.-Taiwan relations and the transformation of regional dynamics in East Asia during that period.
