FY 2015/2016 Research Topic: B-1-05
Product Related Environmental Regulations and Trade

Outline

Environmental and health related regulations for products and product-related environmental regulations (PRERs) imposed by developed countries have raised concern among exporting countries. If the exported products do not satisfy the regulatory requirements, the products cannot be sold in the regulated markets and firms might face technical barriers to trade. As the PRERs become more demanding and numerous, the concerns are increasingly prevalent among developing countries where there is an observable lack of capital or technical capacity to meet the PRERs. This project examines the government and firm-level PRER adoption strategy in green supply chain management in Asia.
