IDEAS was founded in 1990 for the purpose of training front-line development specialists in the field of economic development and economic cooperation.
From FY 2018, IDEAS will revamp the training program, the purpose of which is to train front-line experts engaged in practical businesses related to international trade and investment.

Location and Facilities
The school is located in Chiba City where IDE was relocated from Tokyo in December 1999. It has lecture rooms with audiovisual equipment and WiFi, a library, a fellow’s study room equipped individual lockers, desks and PCs, a common room with TV and a multifunction printer. The fellows at the school are entitled to borrow books from the IDE library.
