IDE Advanced School (IDEAS) was founded in 1990 for the purpose of training front-line development specialists in the field of economic development and economic cooperation.



IDEAS Outline


The IDE Advanced School was founded in October 1990 in order to contribute to the prosperity and welfare of the developing countries through nurturing development experts. There are two programs in the school: a one-year program for Japanese students and a six-month program for overseas fellows.

Location and Facilities

The school is located in Chiba City where IDE was relocated in December 1999. It has lecture rooms with audiovisual equipment, a library, a fellow’s study room equipped individual lockers, desks and PCs, a common room with TV and VCR with satellite channels, a photocopier, and a printer. The fellows at the school are entitled to borrow books from the IDE library.
