A Study of Agriculture as an Industry and Policy Support in the Philippines
Outline
Among emerging/developing economies, some countires have realized (or are in the process of) increasing the added value of agricultural products and creating value chains through the introduction of micro-finance/insurance, ICT, and agribusiness. Since the late 1980s, the Philippines has enacted various laws related to the modernization of agriculture and fisheries, but we have not observed a clear industrial change in those sectors under the present circumstances where the importance of responding to food security has increased.
In this research project, we will summerize the issues to be considered in Philippine agriculture through an overview of business conditions and related business fields, the achievements and effectrs of financial policy support, and a review of previous research.
