The expansions to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) have been identified as possible pathways to the realization of a Free Trade Area of Asia Pacific (FTAAP). Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is serving as an incubator for various regional initiatives. In this research project, we explore various new initiatives directed at liberalizing trade and investment, as well as the general regional integration issues facing East Asian countries.
