APLセミナー(アジ研パワーランチセミナー)は、アジア経済研究所の研究者のみならず、外部の研究者、学生の方にも参加いただけるリサーチワークショップで、お昼の時間にアジア経済研究所（海浜幕張）の会議室で開催しています。

研究所内外における研究者が研究成果、研究活動の中間発表を行うほか、発表者と参加者、あるいは参加者相互のディスカッションを行います。テーマ、講師に応じて日本語あるいは英語での発表、議事進行となります。

A growing body of literature examines the links between climate change, violence and economics (Burke et al., 2014, 2015). In this paper, we examine a potential mechanism linking climate change to armed conflicts, i.e., the interaction between increases in mean annual temperature (and other climatology variables such as rainfall) and the agricultural or hydrological potential of a country. We conduct a panel analysis of the impact of this interaction on armed conflicts using a panel of 137 countries over the period 1960 to 2014. The results indicate that a higher agricultural or hydrological potential reduces the effects of a rise in temperature on armed conflicts. These results are robust to the use of lag variables, various controls as well as year, country and regional fixed effects.
