Africa
IDE is Japan's largest center for social science studies on Africa. The Institute's African Studies Group examines a wide range of Africa topics and issues and actively publishes its findings; IDE also publishes its "Africa Report" twice a year. Because of the group's wide scope, a number of organizations look to the IDE for information on African developing economy issues, and group researchers are often invited to speak on their areas of expertise. IDE also hosts visiting research fellows from leading African universities and research institutions.
