Analytical Perspectives on Distributive Politics: Examining Pork-barrel Politics and Political Clientelism (2017_1_40_006)
Outline
This study examines the literature on distributive politics in emerging democracies such as those in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, with particular focus on pork-barrel politics and political clientelism in the regions. There have been a number of case studies and several theoretical studies on this theme. By analyzing the main arguments of these studies and learning the various approaches and methods applied to them, this study aims to identify new analytical perspectives on distributive politics in emerging democracies.
