Household Expenditure Patterns in Egypt during the 2000s
Outline
Egypt had attained high economic growth during the late 2000s, although the poverty rate during the same period also increased from 19.6% to 25.2%. Why did both growth and poverty increase simultaneously? The main purpose of this research project is to analyze household expenditure patterns in Egypt during the 2000s in order to understand the increase in poverty during the reform era.
