FY 2015/2016 Research Topic: C-22
An Empirical Study on the Investment/Financing Activities of Philippine Corporations
In this research project, we conduct an empirical analysis focusing on the investment trends, changes in capital structures and preferences for in-house/outside financing of the Philippine corporations in the manufacturing sector since 1995 (at the longest). Alongside the analysis, we refine the corporate financial data, which was compiled in FY2013, in view of further extending its applications, such as cross-country analyses and comparisons. Due to the limited availability of time-series financial data, including non-listed firms, research developments in the Philippine corporate/financial sector have not been active. Therefore, this research project attempts to examine the past 20 years and find new aspects for further analysis in the Philippine corporate/financial sector.
