Household Expenditure Patterns in Egypt during the 2000s
Outline
Egypt attained high economic growth during the late 2000s, although the poverty rate during the period also increased from 19.6% to 25.2%. Why did increased growth and poverty occur simultaneously? The main purpose of this research project is to analyse household expenditure patterns in Egypt during the 2000s in order to understand the cause of poverty during the reform era.
