FY 2015/2016 Research Topic: B-2-04
Political Economy in Contemporary Africa

Outline

African countries have recently seen significant changes in nearly all political, economic, and social aspects. Rapid economic growth, increasing economic disparity, democratization, active party politics, and outbreaks of armed conflict are only a few of the far-reaching social changes that have occurred in Africa. A deep understanding of these changes on the continent is vital not only for academic interests but also for setting appropriate policies. With the aim of providing accurate information on and reliable analytical perspectives for today’s Africa, this research project actively delivers its results through the web-magazine ‘Africa Report’.
