FY 2013/2014 Research Topic: C-41
The Rescaling of Statehood and Social Changes in East Asia

In the state of current studies on globalization, focus on the qualitative side of social structural changes has not been clarified in previous sociological studies. In the new theory of rescaling of the State, changes of State roles under global neoliberalism are analyzed and re-defined, especially in the fields of decentralization and urban development and planning. In this study, we attempt to find possible applications of this new theory for the analysis of social changes in East Asian countries.
