Economic Analysis on Agriculture in China: Structural Change through Agro-Industrialization
Under the rapid development of ‘Agro-industrialization’ in China, intermediate organizations such as agricultural cooperatives, rural land stock cooperatives, rural brokers and village committees have been playing important roles in agricultural production and farm management to meet the demands for high quality agricultural products, as well as to increase agricultural profits. In this research project, we will theoretically and empirically investigate economic relationships among agribusiness enterprises, intermediate organizations, local governments, and famers to elucidate the functions in agricultural contract enforcement, quality control, and technological diffusion based on original survey data and field interviews.
