Changes in Multidimensional Urban Poverty under Economic Growth: Evidence from Slum Households in India
Poverty alleviation is an important issue in India, particularly because recent economic growth is slowing down the speed of poverty alleviation and increasing economic inequality. This research project aims to comprehensively analyze changes in poverty amongst slum households in Delhi, India, based on two rounds of the original survey. The feature of this research project is that poverty is conceptualized as being multi-dimensional, including in terms of income/expenditure, access to various public services, and subjective wellbeing.
