The Change in Social Contract in Egypt
Outline
The purpose of this research project is to analyze the so-called “Social Contract” in Egypt in terms of its effectiveness and modification. In Egypt, fulfilling the terms of the social contract is regarded as a condition of a de jure government. However, during the last 40 years it seems that the validity of the social contract has been changing due to the political and economic conditions surrounding Egypt. Therefore, in this project we will reconsider the power of the social contract in the past and investigate the search for a new social contract after the collapse of Mubarak regime.
