East Asia’s Economic Integration: Theory and Practices
During the last few decades, thanks to the developments of technical properties in economics, theoretical studies on international trade, location of industry, and multi-national enterprises (MNEs) have developed. Taking this excellent series of theoretical studies into account, we can empirically explore the effect of economic integration on the location of industry and trade patterns. This study aims to conduct empirical studies on the effect of economic integration, and to derive policy measures to pursue economic integration and narrowing development gaps at the same time. Also, the study will discuss the modality of de jure economic integration, and evaluate the current de jure economic integration including regional trade arrangements (RTAs).
