The library can be used by anyone. (However, children of elementary school age or younger should be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Entry Procedure

Complete the required sections of the entry form at the library counter on the first floor. We also issue library entry cards (valid for a period of two years) for repeat visitors.

Restrictions on Bringing Items into the Library

Bringing bags into the library is not allowed. Please deposit all personal effects apart from items such as dictionaries, writing implements and laptops in the lockers. Please use the library-use bags provided.
Do not bring scanners or cameras into the reading rooms.
Please refrain from using your mobile phone inside the library.

Food / Drinks

There are vending machines for soft drinks in the refreshment corner at the rear of the first floor of the library. However, please refrain from eating or drinking in the reading rooms.
There is also a cafeteria at the rear of the first floor of the building opposite the library. The cafeteria's lunch time is from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Cafeteria is closed for visitors until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Photocopying Service

You may need to wait in order to use the photocopying service. We recommend using this service during the morning, when the library is relatively quiet.

Use of Microfilm Readers

Please make your reservation by phone or email at least two days before the date that you wish to visit the library, so that we can make the necessary preparations. If you inform us of the title and year of the microfilm that you would like to use, we will prepare it in advance.
